MARY BURNHAM

Mary G. Burnham is a writer, oenophile and East Coast native who followed the lure of the grape to California. She has spent a decade in the wine industry, soaking up both knowledge and wine and then writing about it, most recently as a tasting-panel judge and editor for retailer Williams-Sonoma’s wine program and the FOOD & WINE Magazine Wine Club. From 2003-2008 she was the Director of Public relations at Beam Wine Estates. She is the author of the FOOD & WINE Magazine Annual Guide to Wine.

Today she is a freelance wine and food writer, wine judge, and of course educator here at the Wine School @ San Francisco Wine Center. And Mary is one of the sweetest and most engaging people we know which, coupled with her deep connection with wine, makes her quite a talented and special wine educator.
